Fat Truckers - Rest In Peas - 2001 to 2003. This was in essense a RX reworking of their original Teenage Daughter single released on Cercle the previous year. Mixed with the Beatles "Paperback Writer" in a kind of oblique northern referential way. It appeared just the week after George Harrison's death and prior to the Truckers signing to Gigolo and the release of the excellent debut album which achieved success in all the wrong countries. There was an exciting moment when a video for Superbike was discussed featuring footage from Kickstart, but this was never to be. Likewise when they requested the Sid Vicious on the Gigolo release to be replaced with a picture of Evil David Hasselhof. I dont think Hell thought it was that funnny. The legacy of the band lives on in the sound of virtually every electronic band in North London and Rachel Stevens. Ben has gone on to form the Gucci Soundsystem with Riton and have some involvement in the XXteens whilst Ross Orton has produced with Steve Mackey as Cavemen (M.I.A Galang etc) and on his own for Kid Acne and Bromheads Jacket. Gone but not forgotten
