Some Girls (Rachel Extended Version) - PROMO ONLY RELEASE
You can tell its a special day when you get emails from Warp Records and 19 Entertainment within an hour of each other. So Rachel and Mr Fuller hear a demo of a track written with Hannah Robinson and decide its Rachel's future. Unfortunately another UK popstar has decided similarly. They are quickly despatched and the unholy union begins. Suddenly, Richard Curtis is faxing about ones generousity and before you can say "charity begins at home", its the new sports relief single. thank god it was done before that charitable revalation to avoid interference from the kumars et al. Video made me want to give up my life. Easily the closest to the line one has ever sailed. The full spread nme piece provides more of an insight (up soon when we can scan it).
Contactmusic - reworked from NME interview "MATRONIC SCISSORS STEVENS SCISSOR SISTERS singer ANA MATRONIC has launched a scathing attack on British pop star RACHEL STEVENS, claiming the former S CLUB star has the "personality of a piece of toast".
The feisty New Yorker was horrified to see the tiny Londoner pose as BLONDIE star DEBORAH HARRY for the front cover of a UK men's glossy last month (SEP04).
Matronic says, "I was really offended by that picture of Rachel as Deborah Harry and RICHARD what's-his-face (RICHARD X) as the members of the rest of Blondie. It was reducing them to five guys behind a hot chick when they were an amazing band.
"I think Rachel Stevens impersonates people for a living. That girl has the personality of a piece of toast. I would rather hang out with terrorists than her."

The Scissor Sisters later did their own Rachel Stevens tribute single,
"Kiss You Off" which wasnt very good.
